Understanding Embarrassment

Embarrassment is the 'STOP YOU' emotion.

It is no accident that when we get embarrassed we turn red. Embarrassment is the 'Stop You' emotion.  I call it the 'stop you' emotion because it stops you from being you, it stops you from speaking up, it stops you from having what you want, it stops you from asking for what you want... 

We all have things we are embarrassed about, that is very normal. However when we use our feelings of embarrassment as an excuse to not ask for what we want, we lower our self-esteem and make our feelings of embarrassment a road block to the love, success, and happiness we want.  Embarrassment even causes us to not have the money we want, as in, I am too embarrassed to ask for a raise.

Even to this day, I embarrass easily, especially when I ask other people for help but I no longer let embarrassment sabotage my life or stop me from creating the life I want.  Once I understood the dictionary definition of the word embarrassed, I was free to be embarrassed and ask for help any way.

The Dictionary definition of the word: EMBARRASSED
 
1. to cause confusion and shame to; make uncomfortably self-conscious; disconcert;
2. to make difficult or intricate, as a question or problem; complicate.
3. to put obstacles or difficulties in the way of; impede:

My On-Going Gratitude List.

The best way for me to establish a new habit of thought is by repetition and since it is important to me that my attitude of gratitude becomes habitual, I have created an on-going gratitude list for myself that I will add to on a regular basis. - Frederick Zappone

I am grateful I am alive
I am grateful for my health...
I am grateful for all the people who love and care for me.
I am grateful that I learned how awful being ungrateful feels.
I am grateful for the unconditional love Mimi and PJ  (my dogs) give me. 
  I am grateful for the people in this world who live in peace with one another.
I am grateful for my imperfections because they prevent me from criticizing others.
I am grateful to the people who have supported my work with their donations and purchases.
I am grateful for the 'gratitude feeling' because it creates the feeling of abundance inside of me...
I am grateful that I am giving up my ingratitude habit and replacing it with the grateful habit.
I am grateful when I feel ungrateful because it is my ALERT signal to focus on being grateful.

Understanding the Gratitude Law

When we start losing things, when things start going wrong in our life, when things we treasure are lost, most of us slip into an ungrateful state of mind. We do this because we see our loss as a bad thing, as a sort of punishment, when in reality, the loss of one thing opens up the door for a new and wonderful thing. However, if we complain about what we have lost rather than being grateful for what we have, we will lose more things until we have nothing at all. As long as we complain about what we lost and don't have, we will never see our loss replaced with something more wonderful than we had before. It is the law.

The Easiest Way To Change People. (In fact, the only way)

You can try to change people, for the better, by threat or fear but in the end that kind of change is short lived. As soon as the threat or fear is no longer in a person's life, they will revert back to their old habits. If you want to see people change for the better, permanently, accept them exactly the way they are. 

When people feel accepted exactly the way they are,  they feel this tremendous love and appreciation for the 'gift of acceptance' you gave them and it makes them want to improve naturally. Genuine acceptance of another, exactly the way they are, empowers them to get unstuck from the things they do not like about themselves and allows them to develop those traits that makes them feel good about themselves.

How do I know this to be true? Because I was on the receiving end of both  'acceptance and no acceptance' regarding the way I was. When I wasn't accepted, I got worse. However, once someone showed up in my life who accepted me exactly the way I was, I got better naturally - Frederick Zappone


Pay Your Weaknesses NO ATTENTION at all.

Pay powerless feelings and powerless thoughts NO ATTENTION AT ALL.... because if you do, you will attract more powerless thoughts and feelings.  I know that it is true that when you feel powerless feelings or think powerless thoughts, you believe you must 'Do Something' but anything you do motivated  by powerless feelings or thoughts will only attract more powerless feelings and thoughts to you  Instead, SWITCH FOCUS, and find powerful thoughts and feelings to act on.  When you do, you will attract more powerful thoughts and feelings to act on and great things will happen to you.

I'm NOT A Morning Person. (Half Awake Thoughts)

Will world peace begin December 21st or will the world end?
 
People want money to be happy but experience unhappiness getting it.

Thoughts of lack about anything makes me feel bad.

Some days it is okay not to give a shit...  This could be one of those days..

What people think of me is not nearly as important as what I think of me.

The internet is as addictive as sex, except it doesn't feel as good.

Wonder why so many people worry about whether they poop regularly or not? 

The internet is the only place where you can share your private thoughts and rarely know what people think about them. To this day, I am not sure why I spend time on the internet?  Email is good, Video chat is good, online banking is good and of course things to entertain me and amuse me to death makes time pass quickly when I'm bored. Mostly what you get on the Internet is everyone's opinion about everything.  In truth, I think people post on the on internet in the hopes that someone is reading what they are posting when in fact everyone is so busy posting, no one is reading what's being posted except maybe you.

The Reason To Love Your Critics


Critics have very high expectations of you otherwise they would never criticize you. So the next time you are criticized, take it as a compliment rather than an insult. Keep in mind, since your critics don't live in your shoes, most times, the criticism you receive from them, about your work, will be off base. At least their heart was in the right place even if their criticisms missed the mark.
