What Stops Personal and Spiritual Growth?

What I have learned from personal experience over a twenty-five year period of time is that disapproval and criticism by others in worst case situations stops our personal and spiritual growth altogether. In best case situations it slows down our personal and spiritual growth considerably. On the other hand, unconditional acceptance and approval by others accelerates our personal and spiritual growth.
