Don't Fight a Bad Feeling

No one likes to feel bad but people do.

The mistake we make when feeling badly is we fight the feeling. We fight or resist bad feelings because we think that will make them go away. The fact is, any unpleasant feelings we fight with gain power over us and increases in intensity thereby making us feel even worse.

A bad feeling of any sort, anger, frustration, anxiety, depression, is simply telling us that our thoughts, whether we are aware of them or not, are taking us in the direction we do not want to go; they are taking us further away from what we want, which is to feel good.
