We go about loving others, often times, not because we love others but because we want something from them. This is not love, this is the pretense of love.
When you love yourself, loving others is a natural extension of the love you have for yourself. You then love others not because they can give you what you want but because they want what you have to give.
As a result of giving others what they want, your love, in return you receive back from them, naturally, what it is you want from them.
