What makes you unhappy is selling out your integrity.
In other words, 'selling out your truth' in exchange for the approval or the favor of another. Nothing makes people unhappier than when they stop living and acting on their truth.
When you stop living your truth you stop being yourself. As a result, you end up becoming a very unhappy counterfiet version of yourself.
