The Cure for UGLY Feelings

.

There are many feelings we do not like but that does not stop us from having them. From time to time, everyone I know feels hopeless or depressed

The range of feelings we do not like to experience include anger and hatred along with feeling defeated, helpless, anxious, powerless, even suicidal.

Here's the thing, as bad as those feelings feel, they are just feelings. Feelings we can change any time we want by changing how we think.

If you feel powerless, that doesn't mean you are powerless.  It's only a feeling that changes the moment you change your thoughts. Negative feelings have no power over you whatsoever, they just feel like they do. Your feelings make things 'seem real to you' so when you feel depressed, hopeless or suicidal you feel as if that is the God awful truth about your life. However, what you feel is a very small part of your truth.

The rest of the truth is, all thoughts have consequences and the first place you FEEL the consequences of your thoughts is in your body. Don't like what you are feelings, change your thoughts. When you change your thoughts, your feelings change too. The moment your feelings begin to change, the circumstances of your life begin changing too, for the better.

A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT FEELINGS

Ugly feelings will grow like cancer if you allow yourself to believe you are powerless to change how you feel.  Regardless of circumstances, regardless of how bad circumstances can make you feel, you can change what you feel by changing your thoughts.

If you resist negative feelings, if you fight with them, argue with them, those feelings will intensify.  Any feeling you resist grows in strength and power over you. If you continue to resist it, over time, it will take control of your personality and control your life.

In my early years, I experienced very ugly feelings as a result of two of my children dying unexpectedly, one from an undiscovered birth defect and the other one due to medical negligence. The ugly feelings I experienced could have made me give up on life. They could have caused me to commit suicide but I didn't. Instead, I used what life threw my way to motivate myself to find a new way of thinking, a way of thinking that would allow me to turn my grief into unbridled happiness and joy.

I found that new way of thinking and with it I created a life for myself full of joy, inspiration, happiness and success and you can too. Everything I have learned about 'feeling good, no matter what' is now available to you in my twice monthly newsletter by the same name.

At the end of your ROPE? Without hope? This is for you!

.
I wanted to give up time after time. In fact, there were times I wanted to give up every single day of my life for three straight years after my daughter died, unexpectedly, due to medical negligence. She died leaving four little girls behind ages eight to 18 months old.  I hurt so bad that that I wanted to give up living but I didn't because of a driving force inside of me called LOVE.

The love I had for my daughter and the love my daughter had for me...  My daughter made me a believer in love, she made me understand there was nothing more powerful than love but you couldn't just speak the words, you had to turn love into action and that's what I do every single day of my life.....

I share my love with others, up on this blog, through my words. I make life easier for others to compensate for how tough life was for me.  No one should have to suffer like I suffered. And because I suffered so much, I committed myself, through my writings, to lessen the suffering of others.

I share this with you not to have you feel sorry for me but to let you know that no matter how tough life is for you, you can turn your pain into power. If I can do it, you can too.

Forgiveness CURES Depression (Believe it or Not)

.
Before you can forgive yourself for something that is making your life miserable, you first must understand what it means to forgive yourself:

Forgive means to:

1. grant pardon for an offense ; to absolve; to set free from punishment. 2. to cease to feel resentment towards yourself or others. When you forgive yourself you are set free to create the life you want rather than being filled with feelings of  depression,  frustration, anxiety, fear. anger and dislike that stop you from creating your little piece of heaven on earth. The unwillingness to forgive yourself for the negative thoughts and emotions you feel make those 'nasty thoughts and feelings' stick to you like SUPER GLUE.  The more you resist what you feel, the more those feelings grow in strength and power over you.  Instead of resisting depression, every time you feel depressed, forgive yourself for feeling that way.

If you forgive yourself for feeling depressed when you do, the depression you are experiencing will disappear from your life with no effort at all.   Forgiving yourself daily when feeling depressed along with forgiving yourself for anything else that makes you feel bad will dissolve your depression all together...

A Session of Self-Forgiveness might look like this:

I forgive myself for feeling depressed.
I forgive myself for not being able to forgive myself for feeling depressed.
I forgive myself for thinking thoughts that depress me.
I forgive myself for resisting my depression and making it worse.
I forgive myself for depressing my thoughts and feelings rather than fully expressing them.
I forgive myself for thinking thoughts of hopelessness, helplessness and suicide.
I forgive myself for not being as emotionally strong as I would like to be.
I forgive myself for not loving myself enough.
I forgive myself for not accepting myself exactly as I am.
I forgive myself for disliking and hating myself.
I forgive myself for beating myself up when I fail
I forgive myself for not being perfect.......

That's a start..... now add your personal forgiveness lines.

What you BELIEVE about your depression determines whether you will be depressed for the rest of your life or not. Depression is not a disease unless you believe it is and for you it will be. That's the way disease latches on to you, through your beliefs. The excerpt below comes from an interview Tony Robbins did with Dr. Bernie Siegel about the power of your BELIEFS. - Frederick Zappone, Author: Feel Good Newsletter

Blameless

.
No matter what goes wrong in your life, you are not to blame. Blame is a 'disabling condition' that makes you feel powerless. Blame robs you of your power and prevents you from turning something bad in your life into something good.
