Good feelings are not a problem for anyone but bad feelings are.
Being addicted to food, drugs, or booze is driven by our desire to get away from our bad feelings. Without 'bad feelings' controlling our personality, addictive behavior of any kind would cease to exist.

What they didn't teach us in school about bad feelings is that focusing on them, thinking about them, having conversations about them not only makes them persist but causes them to grow stronger until they take on a life of there own and begin operating outside our conscious control.
Neutralizing BAD Feelings
The only way to neutralize the power bad feelings have over us is to switch our attention from the 'thinking mind' to the physical heart, the seat of all of our good emotions.

All that is required to accomplish this is to put your conscious attention on your heart area by putting your hand over your heart while thinking of someone or something you appreciate or are grateful for.
As an alternative, you can gently tap your heart area with your finger tips, while thinking of someone or something you are grateful for, until you feel the good emotions of your heart starting to flow.
As you think of someone or something you appreciate, breath in slowly and deeply five times. This helps to relax the body making it easier to feel the good emotions flowing from your heart area.
Within minutes of placing your hand over your heart, you will notice a calming effect washing over your entire body. That is because, in addition to the heart being the organ that pumps blood to all parts of the body, the heart has an intelligence of its own.
This 'intelligence' sends commands to our thinking mind to feel good once we focus our attention on our heart area. As a reference to this way of thinking, the Heartmath Institute (https://amzn.to/2XWVIgz) has scientifically proven that our heart actually think.
