Only Way To INTERVIEW for the Job you REALLY Want

If you really want a specific job the best way to get it is to take the risk of fully be-ing yourself, then watch the magic happen.

HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?

You go for a job interview. You become nervous and instead of being yourself, you try to be the person they want you to be for the position open. In other words, instead of being yourself, you depress yourself.

Several years ago, I went for an interview and was about to play the old game of "pretending" to be the person they wanted me to be rather than being myself. I had done it many times before. This time I decided not to do it even though I was terrified that if they 'knew" who I really was they would never hire me.

You see, I am too straightforward and direct. I am irreverent and passionate. Sometimes I'm too loud and other times I talk too much. I have a outrageous sense of humor that many people do not understand. My personality is a bit over the top for many companies I know but this time I was going to be myself whether I got the job or not. This was hard to do because I desperately needed the job and I was down to my last three hundred bucks.

Nevertheless, when I met the CEO who was hiring for the position, the very first thing I told him is that I didn't do interviews well. His eyes glazed over and almost rolled to the back of his head. I knew what he was thinking but I knew what I was doing, I was being myself.....and after I gave him time to settle back down...I said to him:

"I don't do interviews well because I am employed all of the time. This hasn't given me much time to practice becoming an expert at doing interviews."

He knew what I was talking about and roared with laughter and that set me free to show up as the full blown ME..... I spoke too loud and talked too much, I was straightforward and direct and I didn't back down from being me. I shared my strange sense of humor with him that made his eyes glaze over, once again, but you know what?

When all was said and done, out of the 10 finalists for the VP position I was the one he hired for the job despite the fact the other nine finalists were more qualified for the job.

The CEO told me later he hired me because he liked my style and my ability to be myself. He knew he could trust me more than most of the people, in his company, who were always kissing up to him. He found my honesty refreshing and sincere, something the other nine people never revealed to him.

It was a best job I ever had because I was hired into the job being myself and I was able to be myself every single day on that job. The best part is, I made more money on that job than any job that I had before when I was "pretending" to be something I was not!

Footnote:

I resigned my vice-president position in 1998. It wasn't the logical thing to do because the money was excellent and the perks were out of this world. However, I did resigned after receiving a life changing letter (see below) from a close friend of mine.

"Few people are brave enough to follow their hearts. It’s all too easy to opt for the security of a 9-to-5 job with good benefits and tell that voice within to shut up. Sadly, it seems that shutting up that voice tends to shut up some vital creative, spiritual element inside of us that becomes trapped, alone in the dark, able only to exert strange longings within us. However, for a fortunate few, the strange longings become too strong to ignore and the prisoner is released"

My friend's letter gave me goose bumps because it rang so powerfully true for me. My desire to inspire other people through my writings with no guarantee of making a dollar was stronger for me than all the guarantees and all the money in the world and so I resigned my vice president position and haven't looked back since.

That was over 20 years ago and while I may not be rich from my writings, I am rich with the satisfaction of doing what I love. That kind of wealth is priceless to me.

Don't STOP 'Being Yourself' For Any Reason.

To fully be yourself you have to give up for all time the idea that everyone will like you being yourself. The truth be told  many people will be annoyed when you are being yourself. Be yourself anyhow because you have to live with yourself 24/7 no one else does. If you don't feel the freedom to be yourself with all people and in all situations, you will find it difficult if not impossible to fully love and appreciate yourself. If you have questions about 'being yourself' post your questions in the comment section of this message and I will answer them for you.

Doing the Ordinary Things In Life Extraordinarily well

Everything in life is a lesson for our growth so we can become the magnificent, powerful, lovable to the core people that we are destined to become.  When you are fully being yourself and fully expressing yourself with nothing held back you will never disappoint yourself. It is only when you hold yourself back in any way that you disappoint yourself.

I have worked all of my life to become the person I am today, an ordinary person who does the ordinary things in life extraordinarily  well. What you see on the outside of me matches the inside of me perfectly. In other words, what you see is what you get. My father told me to never preach a good sermon, Instead he encouraged me to live one. As a result of my dad's words, if I can't walk the talk, I don't talk it. I have mastered all of my fears by facing them head on and now I teach others how to do the same. If you want to be the master of your fears rather than the victim of them, visit my web page, lovesolvesall.com

Your ONLY Enemy, the Critic in your head. KILL IT!

The critics in my life, along with the ones that live in my head, told me I was full of sh*t. They ridiculed me and made fun of me.

They told me no one would be interested in what I knew about feeling good, no matter what. They said it is not possible to feel good, no matter what. They said it wasn't realistic. They said it was 'normal' to feel bad. They said feeling bad is what makes us human. If we didn't feel bad, what would we do with all the time on our hands if we weren't worried, anxious or fearful about something.

They said if we didn't feel bad, we would be out of control and do all kinds of bad things to ourselves. They made us doubt ourselves, not trust ourselves so we would trust them. And so the 'critical leaders' of religion, education, medicine, government, and business all conspired to make up policies and pass laws that would make us feel bad as a way to control us and keep us in line. And what a good job they have done.

Everything in our culture is designed to make us do things out of fear and obligation rather than doing things coming from love, freedom of choice and inspiration. Everything in the culture is designed to keep us out of that 'feeling good' state of mind by reinforcing thoughts of fear and doubt in our mind 24/7.

This fear based information is broadcast to us daily through our newspapers, magazines, radios and television sets. And much of this fear based information is then rebroadcast to us through the videos, pictures and words we see on the Internet. As a result of this continuous 'fear broadcasting,' people are taking actions coming from fear and doing harmful things to themselves and other people more than ever before. These harmful things range from acts of violence and abuse to outright murder and thievery...

Society, by broadcasting fear on a continuous basis, has made us addicted to feeling bad. Society then created pills, booze, drugs and other addictive substances to help us with our bad feelings.

Society then instructed us to use these addictive substances to medicate, sedate and numb our bad feelings. As a result of following society's advice, we ended up feeling so numb we lost touch with our power to create our life and our world the way we want.

THE CULTURE USES FEAR TO CONTROL YOU, TO STOP YOU FROM BEING YOU

Every time you 'react' then act on your reaction that is FEAR running your life...  And all fear is good for is making you feel bad, and creating more fear in your life until you become afraid of everyone and everything. The worst thing about fear is that it makes you feel afraid of yourself, of your own thoughts and feelings and to my way of thinking that's not normal at all.

Realizing what the culture had done to us, I made it my intention to dissolve and neutralize the fear thoughts that entered my mind rather than giving them the power to harm me in any way.

I did just that, and from my experience of turning bad feelings into good ones, my Feeling Good, No Matter What, Newsletter was born.

Did you know that every thought you think that makes you feel bad about yourself are not your thoughts at all but thoughts created by other people to manipulate, dominate and control you. Other people not only created those thoughts but convinced you those thoughts were the truth about you, The sad part is, once you believed the LIES people told you about yourself, you entered into hell on earth.

My Feeling Good, No matter What, Newsletter is for people tired of living in fear. My newsletter is for people who want to thrive and prosper in all areas of their life rather than just surviving and getting by.

My newsletter is for people who want to go from living a lukewarm life to living a life full of passion, excitement and adventure. My newsletter is for people who consciously want to create their future life rather than leaving their future life to chance, accident or luck.

My newsletter is for people who want to give up being addicted to 'bad feelings' which forces them to overeat, overdrink and take drugs with harmful side effects.

My Feel Good Newsletter contains a new way of thinking. This new way of thinking will set you free from the 'mind traps' society created that make you live in fear and control you. This new way of thinking will allow you to experience yourself as the MAGNIFICENT, POWERFUL, LOVABLE to core human being you always knew, deep down in your heart, that you truly were.

Kill the Critic in your head...

.
There is nothing more damaging to your life and nothing that will damn your life more than allowing the 'critic in your head' to live.  Everyone has a critical voice that lives in their head.  Listening to it is one thing but believing what it is saying about you is what keeps you small and stop you from being yourself.   The critic in your head, if you believe what it says about you, can control your moods, your behavior and be the one thing that stops you from achieving the happiness and success you richly deserve. Kill the critic in your head. You do that by believing the very best about yourself and ignoring any thought your critic says about you that makes you feel less than the magnificent, powerful person that you truly are.  Related Reading: Success Comes EASY when you are Being Yourself.

Following the Beat Of Your Own Drummer

.
"If a man loses pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured, or far away. " - Henry David Thoreau

When you follow the beat of your own drummer, when you are fully being yourself, doors will open for you where there were formerly walls.  It takes no effort to be successful when you are being yourself.  On the other hand, if you are not being yourself, your life will consist of unnecessary stress and strife along with an unbelievable amount of physical and emotional discomfort.

When you are 'being yourself' you trust your good feelings more than your bad.  When you are 'being yourself' you do everything coming from inspiration and love rather than fear and doubt. When you are being yourself life is an absolute joy. You see, being yourself requires no effort or struggle at all. On the other hand, if you are not being yourself the effort and struggle you experience in your life will discourage and depress you and put you into a state of chronic despair.

Being yourself is about being the natural you, not the counterfeit version society molded you into becoming.  You were an original when you were born and by being willing to trust thoughts that feel good to you and only take actions that feel right for you, you will return to fully being yourself.

Effort and struggle is always an ALERT SIGNAL that you are not being yourself, That alert signal is letting you know that you are either trying to be something or someone you are not.  Or you are forcing yourself to do things that you truly do not want to do but are doing them because what other people think of you is more important to you than what you think of yourself.

Anything you do, anything you do (repeated for emphasis) that makes you feel uncomfortable is an indicator that you are not being yourself. The real culprit that stops people from being themselves are beliefs they believe in that do not represent who they truly are. Any belief you follow that causes you pain indicates you are believing in and acting on a belief that is not the right belief for you...

BE YOURSELF.... You are all you got...

I'm lazy...so I let the Universe Do it For me...

I am a High Class, Middle Aged, White Trash Guy, that's who I am.

.
The hardest thing in the world is trying to be something you are not.  I've tried to be rich and famous but I'm not. I tried being handsome and sexy, but I failed at that too.. I tried being ambitious and goal directed but it was too much work and it didn't feel good when I tried to do what other people told me I should do.

Who I am is a simple man with simple talents. I can take complex ways of thinking about life and boil them down into a sentence or two that anyone can understand.  My blog is filled with over 3600 messages all pointing to how easy life is once you start being yourself and stop trying to be something you are not.

Once I got tired of trying to be something I was not, I got comfortable being who I am.  And who I am is a high class, middle age, white trash guy (the laziest man you will ever meet) who enjoys the simple things in life like good food, a good woman and traveling when and where I please.

I'm lazy...so I let the Universe Do it For me...

Your Power is Found in Speaking 'Your' Truth.

.
I'm not a somebody nor am I a nobody.  I'm simply the most magnificent, loving and powerful me I can be. The friends I trust, above all the rest, are my very own thoughts except those times with my thoughts aren't friendly toward me at all.

Thank God those times of unfriendly thoughts are few and far between. Most of my thoughts, since they are my thoughts, treat me with the love, compassion, dignity and respect I deserve.

I am not famous or well known, I am not a celebrity or some research scientist who discovered a cure for cancer, I am simply me and all I have to offer the world is my truth. It is my truth that makes me unique differently from all the rest. It is my truth that keeps me in a 'feeling good state of mind' when the truth of others could confuse me and cause me pain. It is my truth that has allowed me to grow stronger in becoming the person I have always wanted to be.  It is my truth and the thinking, speaking and writing about it that makes me magnificent and powerful in my own special way.  For what makes us all powerful in our own right is our truth, our unique way of looking at the world and everybody and everything in it and then sharing our truth with others from our hearts.

It takes Courage to be YOU!

It Takes COURAGE to be YOU!

Yes, it takes courage to be you but what's the alternative?
The alternative is not being you and when you are not being yourself,
you fall prey to lack and limitation of every imaginable shape and size.
The only reason people don't have all the love, health and financial
prosperity they desire is because they are not being themselves.
Instead they are be-ing something they are not.

Psst! Here's a clue when you are not being
yourself. You feel ill-at-ease with yourself.
